We Raise healthy, happy ,gentle Ragdoll kittens in our home in Lyman, Maine ,which is about 20 miles south of Portland and 80 miles north of Boston. ( Southern Maine). We sell kittens on a small scale , no more than 12 to 15 kittens a year at most. Illness and lack of money makes showing prohibitive, as much as I would "love" to see my beautiful Ragdoll's shown. I am unable to work due to a nerve condition and I find them very therapeutic.. They are first and foremost "our Pets, If they can earn a little kibble and Litter along the way, we are grateful. Without their help we couldn't afford to keep them all. Ragdoll kittens are my passion.
We have sold kittens from as far away as Rhode Island ,picked up by their new parents . Also , New Hampshire, Vermont , Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York . We are dedicated to producing the healthiest most beautiful Ragdoll kittens possible. Our Ragdoll kittens get the very best of care . We have a one year Genetic health guarantee . We are continually striving to meet the T.I.C.A. Ragdoll standards. To the best of my knowledge we Strictly abide by the rules and laws of the State of Maine concerning raising kittens. They are well fed , clean warm, happy ,socialized and vet checked often.
Our kittens are never caged, except for the last few nights before a Queen delivers for her and her kittens safety, "Right beside my bed", so when they need me I am there. The girls and kittens have total run of the house, and the boys have a big, light ,clean room with two windows so they can sit and get some fresh air or sun. And of course "my Rocking chair" for visiting time every day. I sit with them all in my lap competing for attention.. "I love it ".
We are a closed cattery, which means our cats and kittens have no contact with any other cats. Thus reducing the chance of infection and disease. Our kittens are raised in a adult atmosphere which makes them calm and quiet. But not being used to children, I prefer to place them in homes where children are over 10.
We try to only have a few litters a year as I want my girls in good shape when they are bred. They have no more than three litters in two years, sometimes less. Of course they all seem to come at once..LOL I have a wonderful vet 5 minutes away which is a great comfort for when emergency's arise. These babies are held , kissed and crooned to from the moment they are born. They are very loving and trusting.
We don't have a lot of Rules, but the ones we have ,we strictly enforce. Kittens are accessed on a individual basis as to when they are both physically and emotionally ready to go to a new home. Usually around 12 weeks. Ragdolls mature slower than other cats, so they can't leave as young as some breeds. By this time they are well socialized and not afraid to be away from mom. They are litter box trained starting at about 5 weeks. Kittens are also taught about the scratching post, something you will need to follow through with. Like children they sometimes forget. BARBIDOLZ kittens may NOT be DECLAWED by law. You sign a legal contract agreeing to this. They are also to be kept inside at all times as their docile personality would make them prey to any predator. ( this too is in the contract. If at any time in your cats life should circumstances make it impossible to keep them please return them to BARBIDOLZ and we will do our best to rehome them to a forever home.
I always want to know where my kittens are , I Never want to hear of one of my kittens ending up in a shelter or bounced around from home to home or Living as a stray. In three month you really get attached to the little buggers..LOL We do NOT ship cargo BUT I would be delighted to meet you at the airport with your kitten and you can take him in the cabin with you for around $50 , Usually ends up not being any more expensive than the $250 it usually costs to ship cargo. . Or we can meet you part way for a small fee to pay for gas. That's about it for the rules.. Oh yes, and you must give them your "heart"...:)

If this is your first Ragdoll you are in for a real treat . No other cat has the personality of a Ragdoll. Ragdolls arn't "just there" like most cats, they want in on the action, whatever it may be. They are called "Puppy Cats" because like puppies they are always right behind you, or in some cases way ahead of you ! I have had people call to complain their "Ragdoll" kitten was running all over and playing, not quiet at all Like they had heard a Ragdoll kitten should be. . Make no mistake, a kitten is a kitten is a kitten !! Ragdolls like to play just as much as any other so allow them their childhood..
Have you decided what color and pattern you like the best ? Have you thought about which sex you prefer? Sex is usually a personal preference after altering there's not much difference. My "personal preference is to the males. I think they are more loveable but that's just my opinion. The major difference is size. The males tend to get quite large up to around 20 pounds where females run 10 to 13 on average.

There are so many unwanted animals out there , I just don't want one of my precious babies to become one of them. This is a long term commitment maybe 15 or 20 years . Kittens are always adorable , will you love it as much when it's a grown cat ? This is also an inside cat , can you cope with having a litterbox in your home on a permanent basis ?...Are you anticipating any changes that might make it impossible to keep your Ragdoll kitten? A possible move, a new baby ? Please, If you have small children, take the time to teach them to be gentle with these baby kittens . I have seen little kittens carried by their head in an attempt to be loved by a innocent 2 year old. Ragdolls are very laid back and forgiving ,and will sometimes take more abuse than they should.

When any kitten Leaves Barbidolz they have been wormed, had age appropriate shots , their monthly Advantage for fleas ,and be on the road to recovery from their altering. They will have been checked by the vet to insure good health. When you get them you have 48 hours to take them to your own vet to verify a healthy kitten. If he finds a problem ,notify Barbidolz within 24 hrs with a signed slip from your vet. You either choose another kitten or wait for a different litter with different parents. No refunds will be given under any circumstance. Once your kitten receives a clean bill of health from both vets it them becomes your total responsibility .
Should you loose your Ragdoll kitten within a year from a genetic problem we will with a necropsy report from your vet replace the kitten as soon as a suitable one comes along. Do not vaccinate your kitten with FIP or feline Leukemia vaccine as they are sensitive to them and this will void your warrantee. Giving one vaccine at a time is much safer for your kitten also. Any owner of a Barbidolz Kitten found to be guilty of "animal abuse" shall surrender said kitten to Barbidolz for rehoming. There is NO excuse for animal abuse. I intend my kittens to go to "FOREVER" loving homes . With your kitten you will receive a blue slip to mail in to TICA so you may choose their registered name. Also a 3 generation pedigree and health record. IF you have any other questions please feel free to email or telephone me. $150 nonrefundable deposit is required to hold a kitten. The remainder to be paid at pick up. This deposit shows you are committed to buy this kitten, so it may be place in the new home in a timely manor, as people usually want "small" kittens. Full payment must be made on agreed pick up date or kitten will be available for sale again and deposit will not be rufunded. I also reserve the right to refuse or refund a deposit, If I feel it is in the best interest of the kitten.

"My Love for Ragdolls"
My love for Ragdolls began long before I even knew there was such a thing. As I now look back over the pictures of my cats through the years they all had a "ragdoll look" . When I was just a little girl I got my first kitten that looked like a split faced Tortie Ragdoll. Tootsie came from an abused home and was in pretty tough shape when my sister rescued her and brought her to me.. I fixed her a nice bed in my doll carriage and there she felt safe and and soothed riding in the carriage. Later as a young teen I would take her my dog and my mothers dog in the basket of my bike and take them everywhere. She thrived under the care and love she was given and lived to a ripe old age
After that my cats were always named Tootsie. I acquired my last tootsie while selling Avon. I went to a horse farm and there in the kitchen floor was a litter of beautiful barn kittens. But one stood out from the rest. I didn't know it then but she looked just like a seal mitted Ragdoll. She had a eye infection and just sat while the others ate as she couldn't see. Well of course she went home with me.. She and my rescue cat Oscar were the same age and became fast buddies..
When I lost her I was devastated and was determined to find another kitten that looked like her. I began to realize she was "special" I wasn't going to find another barn cat like her. One night I was surfing the Internet and by chance happened upon a cat that looked EXACTLY like MY Tootsie ! . Yes the Wonderful Loving Ragdoll.. " Now "I knew what I had to have.." somehow.". I saved my money and soon found a lady who had two females. We traveled for hours to get there and I was so excited. The other kitten was bigger than Tootsie and was prettier but Tootsie stole my heart from the minute I saw her. She wouldn't even let the other cat near me and she was right in my face, like she was saying Pick me , pick me ! SO we kinda picked each other. We took our little "miss personality" as we called her , home with us.
Originally when looking at the Ragdolls on the Internet I had wanted a male because they get so big ,so I decided to breed tootsie "once" to see If I could get a male . Well I took one look at those darling little ragbabies and I was bitten by the Ragdoll love bug. I knew then I wanted to breed them. Let me tell you , When that critter latches on, it's for life. You will never again be without a Ragdoll and probably two or more ! The rest is history, I now have Barbidolz cattery with Tootsie's all around me. Its truly a labor of love, as any cat breeder will tell you there's no money to be made you have to do it because you love it. And I do !!!
P.S My Ragdoll "Tootsie" girl has passed over to the Rainbow Bridge where she waits for me to join her one day.
Will there be another Tootsie ? I don't know yet, She left me with her daughter and granddaughter to love , maybe that will be enough. I call them my little pieces of Tootsie Pop. We live in Southern Maine ,and had water that didn't taste very good. In the meantime my son started a water filtration business.. Long story short He gave one to us for xmas.. Its AWESOME.. for my cats too. They are drinking much more and we all know that means less urinary track problems, urine is less concentrated therefore less odor.. Over all better health.. I just built him a site If you want to check it out.. He only services southern Maine . I never knew our water was so bad before. Although we had to replace our hot water heater every 2 years because the water ate the bottom out..LOL My Hair is now naturally curly.. never had a curl in my life before..
